As unprecedented challenges have affected businesses in the recent years, new trends have emerged and transformed how companies operate. However, successfully adapting new solutions require complex approach and long-term thinking. Hybrid work is no different.
Hybrid work not only affects the place of working but signifies a human-centric view. It means a more flexible, collaborative, and supportive environment which is strengthened by the implementation of digital technologies for a better and richer employee experience.
Significance of employee experience
By introducing new approaches and solutions, companies can create a captivating employee experience. It allows a more engaged, productive workforce with increased work quality and improved customer relations. This approach also emphasizes the importance of recruiting and retaining employees for long-term successes.
A comprehensive employee experience platform (EXP) can seamlessly integrate digital workspace with personalized experiences including communications, connections, community and people-first culture. It puts people at the center by bringing together work systems and support solutions from different locations, and instead of focusing on efficiency alone, supports workers' success and development by looking at them as whole human beings.
Employee experience has become a key competitive advantage. Without it, companies face challenges in recruiting, retaining and growing, especially in today's world where flexible workplaces are increasingly becoming the default.
Act now for future growth
A recent survey[1] from Microsoft asked HR leaders about the readiness of their organization and their plans regarding EXPs. Based on the survey results nearly three-quarter of HR leaders would prefer an integrated platform, but only less than half of those surveyed had taken concrete steps to implement such a system. Only one in five of those surveyed reported using a fully integrated system in their company.
However, the vast majority of HR managers surveyed (95%) agree that their role has moved beyond managing people to managing experiences. An even higher proportion of respondents agreed that HR must also take a holistic approach to getting to know employees and meeting their needs.
Managers who adapted the human-centric view identified the key elements of employee experience as the following:
- Ensure the same experience for all workers, regardless of where they work
- Prioritize retaining existing staff over recruiting new professionals
- Understand the link between employee experience and business results
The right technology is also critical in recruiting, retaining and training employees. The data showed that companies using an integrated platform trust these systems and believe they will help them achieve their profitability goals. Merely offering competitive salaries and benefits is not enough to make companies an attractive place to work today. But with an excellent employee experience, they can stand out from the field.
